
The 48th running of poker’s ultimate championship The World Series of Poker Main Event is being played out at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas through July 22, 2017. More than 7,000 entrants anted up $10,000 each in the hopes of snagging the Main Event prize of $8,150,000. The total prize pool is more than $67,877,000 million.

The field includes amateurs, poker pros, celebrities and poker enthusiasts from more than 85 different countries. As happens every year, many notable celebrities and sports stars have entered as well.

The World Series of Poker is the gaming industry’s premier event, each year drawing tens of thousands of poker enthusiasts from around the globe to Las Vegas to compete for millions in prize money and the game’s most coveted trophy – a World Series of Poker Champion’s Bracelet.

Play continues at the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino Convention Center through July 17 when the field will be whittled down to the final table of nine. The Final Table will be played beginning on July 20th. The public is welcome to drop by and see the action up close to the players.


ESPN/ESPN2 is carrying live WSOP Main Event coverage and providing every-hand coverage of the final table during a three-night primetime finale at 9 pm ET July 20, 21 and 22. A final table preview special will air the night prior to the Main Event final table, on July 19 at 10pm on ESPN2
